An impressive Inca sanctuary which is considered, along with Cusco, to be the main place of worship in pre-Hispanic Peru. It is made from adobe bricks and inside you'll find the Templo del Sol, the Templo de Urpi Wachak and the Templo de la Luna or Acllawasi. Its Quechua name means "that which gives life to the world". It is surrounded by various monuments, with temples, small palaces and carefully restored houses, and a spacious museum which contains a collection of archaelogical pieces discovered in the area during the excavations.
