This festival takes place annually in April, and has done so since 1976. It is considered to be one of the most important cultural events in the country, with performances by Venezuela's and Latin America's best theatre groups. The performances take place in the main theatres in Caracas: Teatro Teresa Carreño, (+58 212 5749122), Ateneo de Caracas (+58 212 5714219), Teatro Nacional (+58 2 4845956) and Teatro El Paraíso (+58 212 4624461).
