This site pays tribute to the horrific period in 1965 when seven high-ranking Indonesian military personnel were brutally tortured by the notorious Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). Formerly the site of PKI's training and assembly center, it now features a monument, a diorama museum, the well where bodies were thrown during the rebellion and a hall of relics. The exhibition celebrates the ultimate victory of Pancasila over communism. Some of the displays, however, are rather disturbing. The name Lubang Buaya (Crocodile Hole) comes from a legend that there were once white crocodiles in the nearby river.
