True Bavarian charm resides at this unlikely location in west Fort Worth. The décor is "Bavarian Chalet," with dark wood accents complementing brick and beige stucco walls. A bandstand located in the center of the dining area features a small dance floor for those who enjoy polka; children and adults often crowd the floor to participate in the chicken dance. A reservation is generally required to obtain a table anywhere close to the action, but dining reservations are not otherwise required. Entertainment starts at 6:30p Sunday-Friday and at 7p on Saturdays. The hearty platters of schnitzel, fried potatoes, sauerbraten and wurst are authentic. Most entrees are accompanied with combinations of tart red cabbage, tangy sauerkraut or delicate, mouthwatering spaetzle dumplings. A small wine list adequately complements the cuisine, although emphasis is on the large selection of domestic and imported beer available on tap.
