Holy Week coincides with the first days of Spring. During one week, sculptures of Christ on the Cross and the Virgin Mary (some dating from the 16th Century) and hooded penitents parade through the narrow streets of Toledo. Each Brotherhood has its seat in a parish church, and from there they begin their processions, formed by other components as well, such as drums and horns, silence, and candles. It is recommended to attend the "Christ the Savior" processions or the "Dying Christ" processions that travel through covered passageways called cobertizos. Toledo's Holy Week has been declared of Regional Tourism Interest.
