This festival is celebrated on the first Sunday in May, when thousands of Toledo citizens and those of nearby towns come together near the Virgen del Valle (Mary of the Mountain) Hermitage to spend a fun-filled day in the countryside (although festivities usually start the preceding Friday). The Hermitage is located in the bypass highway (from this area you have a beautiful view of the city), and you can get here by crossing the river in a boat. The area is filled with food stands and make-shift cabins for eating and drinking. According to popular tradition, if you ring the bell in the Hermitage, you will surely be betrothed soon.
