Located in the city centre, this park boasts an artificial lake used for water sports. Other facilities include beaches, four swimming pools, tennis courts, a jogging track and a shooting club. The park is home to the Everton FC Stadium, built in 1962 to host the World Cup tournament. It is also a lasting legacy of the city's late 19th and early 20th century English residents, who founded many sports clubs, schools and other places of recreation.
