This little chapel was built on the site of an old hospital, and was converted into a chapel in the 16th century. The baroque decor on the main altar, by Joaquín de Churriguera, far from seeming out of place, gives the chapel a very acceptable religious touch. Gregorio Fernández's painting of the Immaculate Conception on the main altar is very beautiful, and there's a silver relic-holder containing a piece of the Lignum Crucis (Holy Cross) and a statue of Our Lady of Sorrow, used in the Holy Week procession. If you can, go there at midday, when you will hear the nuns singing the Angelus.
