This festival is thrown by The National Steinbeck Center in honor of Salinas' native son, the Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winner John Steinbeck, author of "Tortilla Flat" and "The Grapes of Wrath" among others. The event offers tours of the Steinbeck home, museum and the Salinas area, where Steinbeck found inspiration for many of his writings. In addition, there are receptions, luncheons, readings, films, lectures and more. See website for annual info.
