Wonderful Crew
We took the Blue and Gold Ferry from Sausalito to Fisherman's Wharf. The boat was a boat, the crew were awesome but wow was it expensive! $9 per person each way. Needless to say we only took it the one time. Since we did all our traveling by public transportation we used the Translink cards which gave us a discount on the Goldengate Lines which ended up costing half that for me and even less for my Mom. But the Goldengate Ferry doesn't go to Pier 39 so you have to get a cable car to the Wharf.

The Golden Bear is a disgrace!
We boarded the Golden Bear boat for a bay tour, and I was ablsolutely disgusted. The boat itself was a tub! The paint was chipped, the seats torn, and there were rust marks down to the water line all over the boat.. When we got to the top deck amongst all the other passengers, many from overseas, we were mortified to see the most repulsive tattered, faded american flag hangin from the mast. This is our national symbol, the representation of the pride we hold for our country, and it looked like a dishrag. My husband who is retired navy, was embarassed at this disrespectful display of our country's flag. Welcome to America people, where we could give a rat's butt as to how we display our treasured and beloved "Old Glory" to the visitors of our country. Blue and Gold Fleet should take a long hard look at how they are representing our country. How could the people who run this outfit not be aware of the negative image they are portraying about Americans.

Excellent on the bay experience
What more can I say? You are on the water...you can feel the mist...you can smell the air...and you can hear some history...there is alot to see. I could ride forever. It's one of those things where you fee a little sad when it's over.
