Average or lower quality feeling
We stayed there for a weekend. It is probably the best and most expensive hotel in Pie de la Cuesta. Because of huge waves it is almost impossible to swim in the ocean, the bungalows are average, their quality is definitelly not a 5 star! Lots of insects inside, it seemed to me that the hotel is struggling because of bad pricing policy.. it could be managed better because its location is unic! The food was quite poor and little choice..I somehow felt that I could have got better quality for my money elsewhere.

Bankrupt
When we stayed at the Parador del Sol, we experienced three earthquakes and a tropical storm within three days. The roof of the dining hall vanished during this storm. Not the fault of the hotel of course. However, there was no hot water for two weeks. On two occasions there was some luke-warm water but that's all. The food was almost fit for human consumption - almost. We found out that the place was in bankruptcy and that was why everything was being done on the skinny. If you can be assured that the resort is financially solid and under good management, it would be an awsome place to stay but make sure before you go.
