Since 1983, many bands from Salamanca rehearse and perform at this remodeled church dating from 1270, where the town's patron saint, San Juan de Sahagún, used to preach. The auditorium belongs to the town council, and you can usually take in all kinds of concerts -normally free- featuring the town's own band, classical musicians (such as Ismael Berlei), jazz bands (such as Amajazz), etc. If you have your own band or play any instrument in an association or a band, you can book a rehearsal room or even give a concert. Moreover, each May they organize the Concurso de Música de Cámara para Jóvenes Intérpretes (chamber music competition by young performers) aimed at musicians between 13 and 18 years old.
