This attractive parish church was built in 1104 with a covered Gothic façade and it stands in a peaceful square opposite the Corrillo Café (they play good jazz music in the café, by the way). The interior houses numerous forbidding tombs that give it a funerary air and you'll find the Fonseca family coat-of-arms hanging from the walls. It was Archbishop Fonseco of Santiago de Compostella who had the church rebuilt. The church is famous because it was used as a place of refuge by one of the rival noble groups who terrorized the city during their power struggles in the 15th century.
