This is surely one of the prettiest villages in the province and it's located just over 70km from Salamanca, at the foot of the Sierra de Francia mountains. All the houses are built in medieval style and the ones on the main street are particularly impressive. It's not unlike some of the famously preserved medieval villages in parts of northern Spain or Normandy in France. The entire village has been declared a national heritage site. The restaurants are excellent and serve local specialties like limón serrano and turrón de Navidad (a type of nougat eaten at Christmas). A varied range of accommodation is available as well, in hotels, guest houses and camp sites. If you can, visit the village during the Fiestas de la Asunción.
