In 1610, Santino Solari, the architect of the Salzburger Dom, was appointed to build a pleasure palace on the southern outskirts of the city. The result was this magnificent early baroque building, which is set in an equally magnificent park. The park, a stunning concoction of woods, hills and paths, is now extremely popular with both tourists and locals. Admission is free to the park, but the castle costs has the following entry fees: Adults 8.50EUR, children 3.80EUR, family ticket 21.50EUR. Ticket prices includes admission to the Wasserspiele Hellbrunn.
