This is an impressive 34-acre complex with a pre-Hispanic touch to the architecture. Inside, there are theatres, including the Netzahualcoyotl, Juan de Alarcón and Plaza Azteca. It is in this last theater where the Voladores de Papantla (or Flyers of Papantla) is performed (an indigenous ritual offered to the gods, hoping thus for a good harvest) and where a popular festival known as the Mexican Night is located. There are numerous and spacious function rooms that have been used for a wide variety of distinguished national and international events, including exhibitions of paintings, musical concerts, scientific conventions, seminars and exhibitions, and an annual French film festival.
