The Arecibo Observatory is one of Puerto Rico's most recognizable landmarks, and it is a very important part of investigations of interspatial communications in the USA. The radio telescope's dish measures an amazing 20 acres, the largest in the world. It gathers information from all parts of the Universe and stores them for professional analysis. The facility is administered by Cornell University and offers a visitor's center/museum, which describes the functions of the Observatory.
