Originally built as a gymnasium in 1908, this character-filled building became a movie theatre in 1978. Specialising in foreign and arthouse films, it is a medium-sized theatre in the classical mould, providing the magic of the cinema-going experience of yesteryear. Upstairs the Casablanca Café and Wine Bar provides a relaxed, refined space in which to enjoy drinks and food before or after the film, while downstairs at the snack bar the usual array of goodies are on offer. Only cash payments are accepted, but there is an automatic teller machine at the back of the theatre.
