A real gen!
We were upgraded to a suite upon check in, which was lovely. The view of the park from the 8th floor was very nice. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was excellent. The hot tub and pool were clean and the atmosphere relaxing. The Nob Hill location is, of course, the best you can find in San Francisco. I have no complaints and am shocked that we got this deal at $119. Incredible bargain.

Dissapointing
The location of the Huntington is wonderful, as is the door staff. We enjoyed the spa, it was very well maintained and comfortable, not to mention clean. We were sadly dissapointed in our accomodations. I realize that the building was built in the 1800's and old water sounds and such are to be expected, however we were on the third floor overlooking a leaking roof, and next to the elevator which rang every half hour or so. The bed was so uncomfortable, it would have been better to sleep on the floor. The room was considered a "delux suite" which was nothing more than a bed with a loveseat across the room. When we checked out we told the concierge how dissapointed we were, and were told, "yeah, we usually don't rent that room, but we were full" and they still charged us $450 for one night. I would NEVER stay there again.

Rooms needed to be upgraded
I have stayed at the Huntinton Hotel several times. My first stay was in a beautiful room on the 10th floor, corner. It was designed great and service was wonderful. I went back a year later and they could not get me in the same room, but I thought if the one I stayed in was nice, I am sure the others are great. I travel allot, so rooms are important to me. It took them 5 rooms to find me one that was not old and where the curtains were not coming off and the wall paper unglued. They put me in suites as well - most of them gave you the feeling of old and not upgraded for the price - it was a shame!!! Finally, I found one that had a great sitting room, but the bedroom was old looking and the bed not that comfortable. They need to upgrade - Lord knows you pay enough for the rooms! This was a special occasion and I was disappointed.
