Nestled amidst the hills of Pulau Dayang Bunting is Tasik Dayang Bunting (Lake of Pregnant Maiden), believed to be able to bestow fertility on barren women. A famous legend tells of a celestial princess, Dayang Sari, who married an earthly Prince who had used unscrupulous methods to woo her. Their first child died soon after birth. Heartbroken, the princess buried the child in the lake and returned to her celestial abode. Before leaving, she blessed the waters with the power of fertility. Now a popular swimming spot, the lake's facilities include a small jetty, public toilets and a souvenir shop.
