George W. Ferris, whose son, George Jr., gained notoriety as the inventor of the Ferris Wheel, designed this beautiful mansion. It was completed in 1909 after 30 years of debate. A nominal sum of USD10 was paid for the land on which this masterpiece was built. This beautiful home, which is a fine example of elegantly crafted Classic Revival architecture, now houses Nevada's current governor and first family.
