The Mönchsberg lift takes you up and above the city roofs to the Mönchsberg in less than 30 seconds. Once you have reached the top, you can enjoy excellent views of the historic part of Salzburg. There has been an electric cable car up the Mönchsberg since 1890. The lift originally went up the side of a rock face, but today it is situated inside the rock. The waiting hall is decorated with mosaics.
