This part of Binondo has been a Chinese enclave for centuries. Start your tour at Binondo Church, and from there head for the area bordered by Ongpin, Quentin Paredes and Gandara Streets. This area holds mooncakes and sweetmeats, lychees and oranges, strange medicines made from unmentionable animal parts, oodles of noodles, and yellow Chinese gold. You could do part of your tour in a calesa (horse-pulled rig), but settle the price first. Be sure to stop in and visit Bahay Tsinoy Museum, filled with history.
