Who would ever thought they could surf in Antigua? Well, here's your spot. It's not the Hawaiian Pipeline but it's a pretty decent ride all the way in. November is famous for ground swells; that's when we get big waves and avid surfers get antsy. Galley Bay is OK for swimming but you must be cautious at the northern end of the beach. There are lots of buried rocks and most times the undertow is strong. The surfers would want to stay around there when necessary. Swimming is better on most days at the southern end, however, by December it's the haven for those fiberglass boarded young people.
