The nightmare of Berlin's small, independent cinemas has finally come true. Potsdamer Platz. Berlin's new movie centre can accommodate up to 6,000 viewers. And the new cinemas don't just show mainstream, but also less commercial foreign films and cult movies. With nineteen screens, Cinemaxx Potsdamer Platz is the largest movie theatre in the new centre. The choice of films is vast and the cinema is even cosier than your living room. Prices are reasonable too. You can almost hear the smaller cinema owners weeping. The Berlin Film Festival is held here every spring.
