Long before the Hackesche Höfe mutated into one of Berlin's most popular tourist destinations, this small theatre in the second courtyard had made a name for itself as the best place in town for Klezmer music. Despite being refurbished, the theatre still exudes that fabulous fringe theatre feeling, which has become so rare in recent years. There are just a few tables for the audience to sit, and on the tiny stage, Berlin's best Klezmer musicians conjure up sonic images of long forgotten worlds.
