Runaway is the perfect beach for escape. Its long sandy stretch lends itself to sand surfing, picnics and of course, sunning. There's not a whole lot of shade on this beach but there's more sand than you'll know what to do with. Several popular bars and restaurants are located along this stretch of beach; so you'll never want for fuel. During Antigua's winter season the lower end or the southern side of the bay becomes a haven for surfers. Come with a hat and lots of sunscreen, as the sun bears no mercy.
