The Bonn City Art Museum can be found next to the Haus der Geschichte on the so-called museum mile. It's not just the unusual modern 3 cornered building which attracts visitors from all over the world, but also the twentieth century art collection. The emphasis of the permanent exhibition is on the works of German artists, particularly Rhenish expressionism. Works by August Macke, Max Ernst, Campendonk, Schmidt-Rottluff, Kirchner, Klee und Heckel are on display here, among others. On the top floor, post 1945 German art can be seen - works of Beuys, Baselitz and Richter are included among these. In addition there are regularly changing exhibitions here which are often devoted to contemporary art.
