The Mineral and Petrological Museum was already a part of Poppelsdorfer Schloss in 1818 and is one of the most important museums of its kind in Europe. Minerals, as well as raw and refined precious stones, are on display in four different rooms. Visitors to this place will not just get to see rocks, but meteorites as well. There are also interesting exhibitions on how the earth's crust was formed. The garden, with its ten plant houses and a further exhibition room, is opened to the public by appointment only. Free entrance.
