Red Hook serves as the East End's hub. Nearly a dozen restaurants, two small shopping centers and numerous stores flank the main road, small marinas snug up to the shoreline and the ferries to St. John and the British Virgin Islands depart from the government pier. A small grocery store, a bank, medical offices, gas stations, marine supply stores, clothing stores, and more provide myriad services. There is free parking at the shopping centers and paid parking in the lot adjacent to the pier. Most businesses accept credit cards.
