Palladium is situated opposite the little piazza on Kungsportsplatsen, behind the statue of Karl IX on his horse. The cinema is part of the SF chain. Palladium opened in 1918 and is the second-oldest cinema in Gothenburg. In the foyer there is a statue that used to stand on the stage of the Aveny cinema, and which was lowered into the floor by a lift when the film was about to start. The auditorium seats 770 people and is adorned with two beautiful chandeliers. Tickets can be booked a week in advance, to be collected at least 45 minutes before the film starts on Mon-Thu or 60 minutes in advance on Fri-Sun. It is also possible to hire the cinema for conferences or similar events during the day.
