Lindholmen, on the northern shore of Göta Älv, has its own cinema. Aftonstjärnan was called Lindholmens Bio until 1992, and is housed in a charming building sice 1918. The auditorium, which has also housed revues and comedies, seats 200 people. There is also a cosy café with tasty sandwiches and cakes, which opens an hour before the shows. Apart from showing films during the film festival, there are also matinées and special showings. Check the daily newspapers for information. Getting to Aftonstjärnan is a bit of an adventure in itself. You take ferry Älv-snabben from Lilla Bommen or Rosenlund, and the journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Aftonstjärnan is situated on Plåtslagargatan, a short walk from the quay.
