Located on the northern shore of Hong Kong island, Causeway Bay is one of Hong Kong's top shopping and nightlife districts. Originally the warehouse area for merchants and a fishing harbour, the area has become a shopper's paradise with some shops open until midnight. And the crowds come, particularly on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Ever-expanding pedestrian-crowded areas ease the rush as shoppers purchase anything their heart desires. Apart from big department stores such as Sogoand shopping malls like Times Square, there are also small shops and street stalls crammed into the area around Jardines's Crescent and Jardine's Bazaar. In addition, Causeway Bay also offers a plethora of restaurants, ranging from cheap Dai Pai Dongs to more expensive establishments, and cinemas.
