This unusual temple is located at the edge of the sea, on the north coast. Cut out of a sheer rock cliff, it is said to be the first temple built by the itinerant priest, Danghyang Niratha. When Niratha first arrived here, he granted 8,000 people their request to be immortal. The locals fervently believe that these gomangs (invisible beings) still exist. Today, travelers going to Java stop here for blessings. This temple celebrates its anniversary during the October full moon. During this time, pilgrims come from all over Bali to worship here. Visitors should beware of the monkeys here! Admission: By donation.
