Viva Mexico in Cancún is the highlight of September. A program of cultural events takes place all month to commemorate Mexico's Independence. These events, numbering about a hundred, carried out throughout the city, include workshops, pottery and craft exhibitions, folkloric dances, music concerts, official ceremonies, gastronomic events, film festivals and much more. Every day of the month there are several important and interesting events to attend or take part in. Most of the activities carry a patriotic theme.
