Downpours preventing nighttime strolls? October is still rainy season in Caracas, but when the weather isn’t cooperating, don’t just sit in your hotel waiting for the rain to clear up. Instead, catch a classical concert or dance performance at Aula Magna hall, part of the Universidad Central de Venezuela. The concert hall has flying saucer-shaped disks designed by renowned sculptor Alexander Calder hanging from the ceiling. These disks are said to help the hall’s remarkable acoustics. The hall’s program changes frequently and features various orchestras and dance companies from around Latin America.
