Othar Turner and his Rising Star Fife and Drum Band opened this musical extravaganza called Chicago Blues Festival. Quite an apt choice, as they are a reminder of where the blues actually originated from. With performances by some of blues' greatest, this festival gives a whole new meaning to "having the blues". The 24th annual festival can safely boast of being one of the biggest and most diverse blues festival in the world, and it is absolutely free!
