The King's Cup Camel Race is an annual affair in Riyadh, held close to the international airport. Locals and tourists both enjoy the event. More than 2,000 riders compete, and most of them are young boys who have been trained in the art of riding these creatures since childhood. The stakes are rather high too, and the experience, overall, is not to be missed. But if you do miss it, try and catch one of the weekly races while you are in the city. These are held in the winter months.
