Bordeaux Merignac Airport offers both national and international connections. It handles over 3 million passengers a year, and is the gateway to the wine region of France. There are restaurants, several bars, a bank, two cash dispensers, a post office, a convenience store and a wine shop on the premises. There is also a duty-free shop for international travellers. Shuttle buses run from the airport to the town centre and the train station every half hour Monday through Friday, and every 45 minutes during weekends. Parking is free of charge for a half hour only, following which an hourly rate must be paid.
