One of the oldest churches in Madrid, the San Pedro el Viejo (Old Saint Peter's) was built during the medieval period when Madrid was just a village with less than 4,000 inhabitants. Its square brick tower, dating back to the mid 14th century, is one of the few remaining pieces of medieval architecture in Madrid. Visit this historical landmark on any day of the week, but make sure to only visit during the hours of worship on Sunday.
