This cheery, two-story establishment is Sullivan Island's oldest restaurant. The outside is painted bright blue, and the inside is airy and wooden, with lots of nostalgic black and white photographs of the island’s history. There are also a few kitschy touches, such as the plastic Santa above the door, the neon clock, or the painted palmetto trees on the walls. The back of the menus feature an "Island Dictionary" which explains points of interest of local history. The food centers mostly on fresh seafood, steaks, and pasta, which are served with a smile. Order the cornbread-fried oysters or the apricot-glazed fried flounder. Station 22 is well-known for its homemade desserts, especially their coconut cream pie-a generous, moist slice topped with mounds of whipped cream.
