The Francis Marion Hotel was built in 1924 and named for the Revolutionary War hero Francis Marion, also known as the Swamp Fox. The hotel stands 12 stories tall and offers luxury amenities and services to its guests. A spa, restaurant, fitness center, ballrooms, and conference rooms are on the premises. Guest rooms are plushly furnished and feature marble bathrooms, pedestal sinks, brass fixtures, and Judith Jackson Spa bath products. The hotel offers a wide variety of room/activity packages. For example, the "Discover Charleston" package starts at USD169 per night and includes elegant accommodations and your daily choice of 2 tickets to either the SC Aquarium, a horse drawn carriage ride, historic Fort Sumter. The "Picnic On The Ashley" package starts at USD239 per night and includes accommodation with views of Charleston’s harbor, a picnic basket filled with lunch for two, and entrance to one of the following plantations: Drayton Hall, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, or Middleton Place.
