The Wellington Sinfonia while noted as a part-time professional orchestra, is in so much demand that full-time is probably more accurate. Serving as support for ballet, opera, choirs, cinema and even pop performances they are much more than just a pit orchestra and are becoming recognised in their own right as an orchestra of renown. A recent reviewer admired the overall skill of their performance, especially the impressive wind soloists.
