Tokyo Opera City is a new concert hall with excellent acoustics but, despite its name, doesn't stage operas. Nevertheless, it puts on an innovative and varied concert program ranging from solo recitals to full orchestral concerts. It has a seating capacity of 1,632. Inside the hall there is a wine bar serving drinks and snacks. For a full meal, however, visitors can take the elevator to the 53rd or 54th floors where there is a selection of eateries—and the view is stunning. The Opera City also houses a gallery that holds art exhibitions four times a year. Its objective is to preserve and present authentic Japanese culture amidst Tokyo's metropolitan atmosphere.
