Built in 1917 this is Wellington's oldest theatre. It is the mainstay of art house cinema circuit and is a major venue for the International Film Festival. The managers of this complex deserve support for their sterling efforts to overcome the opposition from the sterilised mass-market multiplexes. Enjoy a coffee from their well-stocked cafe and soak in the wonderful ambience before sitting down to a select movie. This theatre is worth a visit for the milieu alone.
