Walking south along the Copacabana beach, you will find this large unlikely fortress jutting out to sea. Defending the beach with its faded green cannons and its 12m thick walls, this outpost has been a landmark here since 1914. Although it might be hard to remove oneself from the beach, it may be worth a quick visit to see the weaponry on display, Fortification Museum installed in a bunker and century-old furniture. Also, the view alone is worth the price of admission—BRR2.
