If you would like to meet Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II and John Winston Lennon all in the same place, you have the opportunity to do so here. The Wax Museum of Mexico City was inaugurated in 1979 in a beautiful turn-of-the-century art nouveau house. The fourteen exhibition halls have been especially designed to house the one-hundred and sixty figures that form the museum's collection, which includes famous figures from Mexico's history, as well as national and international sportsmen and women, politicians, fictional characters, rock stars and religious leaders. The museum also houses a cafeteria and souvenir shop. Admission costs 50 pesos; 35 pesos for students and children.
