A relatively recent addition to the city of Paris, the Opéra Bastille is a round building, located right at the Place de la Bastille. It is one of the most modern buildings in Europe. Originally created to make opera more accessible to the masses, the Opéra Bastille holds both ballet and opera performances. Operas are in French as well as in other languages. The building also has a bar and a restaurant.
