Located alongside Parque del Este (East Park), this museum is a recommended stop during a visit to the park, where you will also find the planetarium. La Sala de Coches (Vehicle Hall) displays European and American carriages from the 18th and 19th centuries. In la Sala de Maquetas (the Scale Model Room), each guest will get to know downtown Caracas in the '30s. El Departamento Acuático or the Acuatic Department is dedicated to Christopher Columbus and to the ships of his times and el Departamento de Ferrocarriles y Transporte Pesado (the Department of Railroad and Heavy Goods Transport) exhibits several antique locomotives that operated in Venezuela. The Museum displays samples of civil aviation on a permanent basis.
