nice flavor
nice flavor to the place. get out on the metro at the top of the road and work your way down. take pictures of the living statues, but of you don't give them a coin or 2 some will get angry.

The perfect pedestrian boulevard
The Ramblas is the opposite of a US street - the street and sidewalk are reversed, with space in the middle for dozens of pedestrians walking side by side and cars relegated to a single lane on either side of the lively "sidewalk." Walk the whole length - you'll see tons!
